Indigoblu challenge October 2014- magic of masks..................

HI folks
this is my first challenge post as a designer for the team, whoopee.... not that I'm excited or anything.
The title suggests to me  two things,
1- masks for masking off stamped images so they can be stamped over,

2-masks that can be bought or made then inked, sprayed or paste applied leaving a pattern, negative or positive.

It just so happens that I love..... these techniques,  remembering that the first image you stamp is going to be at the front, so you layer your picture up front to back. does that make sense? hope so.
I've added pictures to illustrate what I mean.
I make the mask by stamping onto paper and cut it out, I use re-positional adhesive to hold the mask in place as I stamp over it.

Well here goes first you need to decided on your layout, and cut your masks,  I wanted the "I spy " guy at the front so he was stamped first in distress ink crushed olive. The card is an oatmeal colour.

next I added the mask,

then stamped over it with the stamp" wish you were here" in mustard seed distress ink.

this is what it turns out like, when you remove the mask. I just love the reveal and if you've done it wrong because the images are stamps you can do it over again until you are happy with the results.

then apply both masks, and stamp over with " Map background" looks very messy! trust me, you'll see,
when both masks have been removed  ta dah!

I also cut along the edge of the I spy image as I think it looks like a ripped ticket so
I ruffed up the edges a bit.
The image was cut out  and layered onto screwed up wax paper, the was layered on to a background piece of card that had been sprayed with diluted acrylic paints through a stencil,
I also inked a bottle top and used that to make marks too. The cut out bit is covered up so i decided to crop it out perfect for an ATC. I've used bubble wrap, a numbers stencil and a bottle top to add colour and dimension.

The sentiment is from the design numbers stamp plate, this was stamped onto the spare background card and punched out and mounted onto the card with a piece of  scraggy ribbon behind it.

I hope you like it if you do or even if you don't please  leave me a comment I always like to read them,
don't forget to check out the other design team members wonderful ideas, and enter the challenge youself for a chance to win a great prize at   http://indigoblublogchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/
thank you
